COOPERATIONS

CBH actively engages in collaborative networks and projects in Poland, in the CEE region, in Europe, and globally. Here are some networks we regularly work with.

Database of Polish Joint-Stock Companies (POLAND)

The History of Polish Joint-Stock Companies is an online portal and database that builds upon the earlier project Catalogue of Polish Joint-Stock Companies and Shares. Its aim is to compile as complete as possible monographs of interwar Polish joint-stock companies and gather all available source materials in one place. The database is continuously updated with verified historical information, strictly following academic methodology.

Created collaboratively by volunteer authors, the project is free to access and use, while respecting copyright rules. Users are encouraged to cite the database when referencing its content and to request permission for reproducing larger excerpts.

Workshop on Business History in CEE (CEE)

WBHCEE is an initiative of CEE scholars devoted to development and popularization of the field of Business History in Central & Eastern Europe. WBHCEE aims at facilitating international exposure, cross-country comparison and an interdisciplinary discussion about research topics and methods. The workshop series emerged as result of our impression that Central & Eastern Europe still seems to be missing from international debate in the field of business history despite significant acomplishments by economic and business historians in Central and Eastern Europe. The origins of the initiative date back to 2018 when a group of CEE scholars with the support of the European Business History Association (EBHA) organized the first workshop at Kozminski University in Warsaw. The determination and commitment of scholars interested CEE business history resulted in the workshop being organized continuously every year since 2019. WBHCEE network is open to all researchers interested in Business History in the CEE and welcomes new members and potential contributors.

European Business History Association (EUROPE)

The EBHA was established at the end of 1994 as the professional body for individuals interested in the development of business and management in Europe from the earliest time to the present day.

Research Institute for Centennial Management (JAPAN)

The Research Institute for Centennial Management (100年経営研究機構) promotes the study and practice of long-lived companies in Japan and worldwide. With nearly 40% of the world’s century-old firms located in Japan, the institute visualizes and shares their accumulated wisdom through research, databases, study groups, seminars, and publications. Its mission is to provide knowledge and learning opportunities for business leaders and to spread awareness of the value and significance of centennial management.

International Council on Archives Section on Business Archives SBA (GLOBAL)

The ICA SBA aims to support the preservation and use of the archives of business worldwide. SBA was created in 1990, from an earlier committee on business records as the Section on Business and Labour archives (SBL). It was renamed the Section on Business Archives (SBA) in 2015. Our section attracts a broad international membership with shared common professional interests and activities. The member archives of SBA mostly are departments of multinational corporations. Best practice exchange for managing global archives in a world organised by national legislation is therefore at the core of our interests.
